Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).Position DescriptionThe Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University, is seeking applications for a full-time Academic Associate position. This is a 3-year contract with the possibility of renewal.The Clinical Partnership Office (CPO) at ISoN is responsible for all activities related to Clinical Partners, including clinical placements, education and training of Health Care Professionals who work with students, and relationship building and management within the health care network.The Academic Associate within the Clinical Partnership Office will support the teaching mission in ISoN by overseeing all activities related to Clinical Partners and Clinical Placements. Clinical experience is a vital component of the curriculum in all Nursing programs and the Academic Associate will not only oversee the daily operations of the Office, but will contribute his or her professional nursing background and experience to the successful placement of students and the appropriate selection of clinical sites.The successful candidate will be joining the School at a stimulating time of growth and energy with a recently enlarged number of education and research-focused faculty, major curricular revisions, and a physical space with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities.Primary ResponsibilitiesUnder the Direction of the Director of the Clinical Partnership Office, the successful candidate will be expected to fulfill the following duties:

  • Support the Director of the CPO in applying the Strategic plan and with specific mandates;
  • Work on the clinical placement cycles within the ISoN for all clinical courses in close collaboration with the CPO administrative team and other Academic Associates;
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director Education, Program Directors and Clinical Course Coordinators to determine clinical placement needs in relation to curricular and entry-to practice requirements;
  • Support the clinical trajectories for Nurse Practitioner students;
  • Communicate on regular basis with relevant internal and external stakeholders for matters related to clinical placements;
  • Conduct regular environmental scans to explore potential new sites for clinical placements, in collaboration with other Academic Associates of the CPO;
  • Develop new inclusive partnerships with key representatives of clinical sites, including educating clinical partners and offering workshops;
  • Determine and track individual student placements across the program of study and ensure that placement experiences meet curriculum requirements;
  • Collaborate in evaluating clinical education quality;
  • Support Accreditation activities;
  • Work with clinical partners to foster safe learning environments for students;
  • Support clinical placements in the Nurse-Led clinics.

Qualifications and Education RequirementsMinimum requirements for consideration are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with active membership with the OIIQ;
  • Masters’ degree in a relevant field such as, Nursing, Education, or Administration;
  • Experience related to nursing clinical education;
  • Clinical placements recruitment experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written English and strong verbal and written French;
  • A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusiveness is expected.
