Vision
The Assistant Dean of Admissions will apply evidence-based practices in recruitment, selection, and matriculation, collaborating across the School of Medicine to build an innovative, community-based medical school.
Description
The Assistant Dean of Admissions leads the Admissions Department for the BA/MD, MD, AA, PA, and graduate programs at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. These programs serve students across three UMKC SOM Missouri campuses: Kansas City, Columbia, and St. Joseph.
The school is best known for its accelerated six-year BA/MD program, which matriculates 105 students directly from high school each year. Admissions is housed within the Office of Student Affairs, and the Assistant Dean reports to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
The Assistant Dean is supported by a Manager of Selection, Manager of Recruitment, two staff members, and two student workers. The department works closely with the BA/MD, MD, AA and PA program selection Committees.

Master’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in admissions with progressive responsibility and leadership.
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $80,000 – $100,000 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
