| position Highlights | The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona Health Sciences in Tucson invites applicants for a tenured faculty position in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Applicants with an established research program on neurotherapeutics and longevity diseases are encouraged to submit CV and Research Plan with their Application to be considered. An endowed chair with a highly competitive startup package is available for this recruitment. The incumbent will join a college currently ranked 4th nationally in NIH funding and a department with current research strength in pharmacology, toxicology, medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutics, including drug discovery efforts for Alzheimer’s and other age-related neurodegenerative diseases. The Arizona Center for Drug Discovery and the new Coit Center for Longevity and Neurotherapeutics have been established in the College of Pharmacy. The overall mission of the new Longevity Center is to accelerate understanding of aging, longevity and/or neuronal health as well as foster efforts to develop new opportunities for prevention and drug discovery in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson, ALS, and others. Excellent opportunities exist for collaborations with researchers at other parts of the University of Arizona campus, Center for Innovation in Brain Science, the Neuroscience Graduate Interdisciplinary Program, the Bio5 Institute, Arizona Cancer Center, and Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center.
