Job Summary

The Class B CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting plumbing materials, equipment, valves, fittings, fixtures, and related products to customer locations while maintaining exceptional customer service. This role primarily focuses on local and regional deliveries, with occasional warehouse support including staging, loading, and material handling activities. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, customer-focused, dependable, and interested in a long-term opportunity with potential for permanent employment.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles, including automatic stake bed trucks and box trucks.
• Deliver materials to customer locations according to established schedules and delivery routes.
• Verify delivery locations and directions prior to transport.
• Load, stage, secure, and transport materials in compliance with company and DOT regulations.
• Unload or assist customers with unloading materials as required.
• Obtain customer signatures and complete all delivery documentation accurately.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding delivery status, route updates, and customer concerns.
• Pick up customer returns and verify returned materials match supporting documentation.
• Retrieve local purchase orders and related materials as assigned.
• Ensure all delivered materials are unloaded and placed in designated customer locations.
• Complete and return all delivery tickets, packing lists, and required documentation.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
• Fuel vehicles and report maintenance issues, accidents, violations, or equipment concerns promptly.
• Assist with warehouse operations, including staging, loading, and organizing materials.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service during all customer interactions.
• Support company initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Work overtime as required to meet business needs.

Job Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• Air Brake Endorsement required.
• Must possess required state-issued non-excepted interstate self-certification designation and provide proof.
• Minimum one year of Class B commercial driving experience.
• CDL must have been held for a minimum of one year.
• Sit-down forklift experience required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency using smartphones and mobile technology.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and secure materials for transport.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.

Work Experience

• Minimum one year of Class B commercial driving experience required.
• Previous delivery driver experience preferred.
• Warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience preferred.
• Experience delivering construction, plumbing, HVAC, industrial, or building materials preferred.
• Moffett forklift experience preferred.
• Class A CDL is a plus.
