Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is one of the most technically advanced designers and manufacturers of lightweight composite aerospace structures, subassemblies and components. For more than 50 years, AEC has innovated advanced composite solutions for defense and commercial industries in applications from large commercial transports to fighter jets and commercial and military rotorcraft.
Our composite design and fabrication expertise can be found on many defense programs. AEC provides a wide range of products including complete structural assemblies, flight critical components, primary and secondary structural elements for platforms such as the F-35 Lightning II, the CH-53K Heavy-lift Helicopter and the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM).

AEC SLC is supportive of student education through experiential development. We are currently looking for an intern to support various improvement projects in our Continuous Improvement department.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with Lean Kaizen Events: Support the planning, facilitation, and execution of Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement in processes and workflows.
• Process Improvement Support: Contribute to identifying opportunities for process optimization, including gathering data, analyzing current processes, and recommending improvements.
• CI. Administrative Tasks: Help maintain documentation related to continuous improvement activities, including tracking action items, reporting progress, and updating performance metrics.
• Project Support: Provide support on ongoing C.I. and operational projects, assisting with implementation, tracking milestones, and ensuring project goals are met.
• Collaboration with Operations Teams: Work closely with operations teams to understand challenges and contribute to finding effective solutions.
• Data Collection & Analysis: Assist in gathering and analyzing data related to process performance, efficiency, and quality, and present findings to the team.
• Training & Knowledge Sharing: Help organize and participate in training sessions on lean principles and other continuous improvement methodologies for team members.
• Support Continuous Improvement Culture: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging best practices, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting change initiatives

Qualifications:

• Actively pursuing an Undergraduate Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other related field with a GPA of 3.0.
• Strong Analytical Skills
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Principles
• Strong Communication Skills
• Problem-Solving Abilities
• Team-Oriented
• Detail-Oriented
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to complete multiple projects on schedule with minimal supervision.
