VTG is looking for an Engineering Support Specialist in Chantilly VA.

What will you do?

The Engineering Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in facilitating highly attended technical meetings and ensuring seamless coordination. This role is perfect for individuals with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach, keen on becoming a trusted point of contact for technical and programmatic activities. The position involves managing action officer-style tasks and supporting engineering programs, offering exposure to strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

– Facilitate and coordinate technical meetings, ensuring all briefers and topics are lined up.

– Manage and track internal and external taskers using enterprise systems (e.g., TIER, Confluence).

– Coordinate responses to engineering-related actions, ensuring accuracy before senior review.

– Draft, edit, and finalize correspondence, reports, and presentations for technical audiences.

– Support engineering documentation efforts, including standardization, safety audits, and specification updates.

– Prepare agendas, take notes, and distribute minutes for meetings.

– Maintain outreach and engagement records, updating Confluence pages and fact sheets.

– Assist with governance processes, continuity of operations (COOP), and strategic planning deliverables.

– Serve as a liaison between engineering teams, program offices, and external stakeholders.

– Monitor progress on assigned actions, generating metrics to demonstrate accountability.

– Facilitate training sessions as necessary.

Do you have what it takes?

– Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

– Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute.

– 5+ years supporting DoD or IC programs in administrative, technical, or action officer roles.

– Familiarity with systems engineering environments and technical documentation.

– Strong writing and editing skills for executive-level communications.

– Experience with tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Microsoft Office Suite.

– Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

– Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
