Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Fleet Services, the Fleet Operations Supervisor is a key member of Fleet Services management team along with the Director, Agricultural Services Shop, and Parts Supervisors. The incumbent provides management and strategic support to Fleet business operations and to the Safety Services support departments. Responsible for providing strategic and analytical support, making recommendations on fleet business processes to prevent, mitigate and respond to customer issues. Develops and implements internal operational policies, procedures, guidelines and controls. Interprets and applies university regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to fleet metrics including utilization, fleet cost effectiveness, and sustainability, grant administration, and special projects.

Department Overview
UC Davis Fleet Services manages a fleet of vehicles for the UC Davis Campus in Northern California that are assigned and travel throughout the nation. There are approximately 870 fleet-owned vehicles with an acquisition value of over $15 million and another 600 department-owned vehicles, carts, and trailers maintained by Fleet Services. These vehicles are available to support teaching, research, administrative programs and all campus support programs.

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) will be strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space.
Employee is personally responsible for following safety guidelines/procedures. Work a flexible schedule with occasional evenings/nights and weekends that may include varied lunch hours. Restricted vacation during peak demands. Travel to and attend meetings, trainings, or conferences that may be several days and requiring overnight stays. Work alternate work schedule and overtime to meet deadlines and operational needs.
