Coordinate and supervise personnel and projects to insure that safety policies and procedures are being followed appropriately. Works within the framework of the tasks and schedule set forth by project management to efficiently supervise other crew members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Extensive knowledge of heavy construction procedures and processes with the ability to efficiently and effectively implement with minimal supervision
Specialized training and certification to meet regulatory requirements (OSHA 1910.120, 40 hour HAZWOPER, applicable 8 hour OSHA training), when required
Assists Project manager in recommendations to fulfill project requirements
Assist in developing and implementing work scope and schedule for planned projects
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Valid driver’s license with driving record within Company established parameters
Supervises all aspects of field operations involving Company employees, subcontractors, materials and equipment
Must have a minimum of 7 years of related experience. Commercial Driver’s License and/or valid DOT medical card, when required
Mentor, train and provide performance evaluations for subordinate level employees
Must have the ability to complete the appropriate forms and keep documentation related to the project tasks being performed
Implements Company Policies/Procedures and experience to conduct work safely and efficiently
Ability to perform basic as well as complex mathematical calculations
Extensive knowledge of environmental remediation operations and procedures, as required
Responsible for observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and/or pre-employment physical (depending upon site requirements)
Ability to wear a respirator if classified in environmental work
Ability to work in an outdoor environment, in a variety of weather conditions
Willingness to travel, as required
Availability to report to work upon “short notice” (within 24 hours) of job assignment
Other duties as assigned.
TRAINING
OSHA HAZWOPER (40 hour initial and 8 hour refreshers), Defensive Driver (bi-annual requirement for all employees), Confined-space Entrant, Rigging & Lifting, Level 1 Equipment Operator Certification, Level 2 Equipment Operator Certification, CPR/First Aid Certification, OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety, 0045cavation Safety/Competent Person Certification, Level 3 Equipment Operator Certification, 10-hour OSHA Supervisor, Confined-space Supervisor, Hazmat Supervisor, Leadership, IATA/DOT and 45 hour Site Safety & Health Officer.
Training requirements may differ for employees involved only in “Clean Construction” activities.
