Industrial Janitor

We are seeking a self-motivated and reliable individual to fill an Industrial Janitor role with a company located in Detroit, MI.

Day Shift: 7:00AM – 3:30PM Monday – Friday

Pay Rate: $19.00/hour

About the Company: In business for over 100 years, we are a major producer of powdered construction materials in the Great Lakes region.

Job Summary for Industrial Janitor position:

• Remove debris and material spillage from the production area
• Assist in General Labor duties as needed
• Clean machinery components, material bins or tanks, conveyer belts & grinding mill screens
• Perform labor-intensive tasks such as sweeping, shoveling or jackhammering material as needed
• Work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and efficiency
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing provided personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during work hours

Industrial Janitor Qualifications:

• experience: Previous experience working in an industrial, plant, or manufacturing environment.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, lift, bend, walk, lift and perform physical work on a repetitive basis throughout the shift.
• Lifting capability: Proven ability to frequently lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently throughout shift.
• Certification training provided: Company will provide certification after successfully completing MSHA Part 46 assessment training. Training provided by company on first day.
