We are in search of a Health Information Management Specialist to join our team in Methuen, Massachusetts. As a part of our healthcare system, the Health Information Management Specialist will be instrumental in managing medical information and patient records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal and ethical standards. The Health Information Management Specialist role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitating the scanning process of health information management, contributing to the efficiency of our healthcare systems.

• Collaborating with administrative, clinical, and financial staff, demonstrating effective communication skills.

• Utilizing MEDITECH system for various tasks, showing proficiency in handling manual systems.

• Handling health information management for two large-scale hospitals, demonstrating the ability to manage high volumes of information.

• Ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information, adhering to strict ethical and legal standards.

• Assisting in the coding of diseases and treatments for research or billing purposes, showing a good understanding of basic medical terminology.

• Analyzing patient records and data, contributing to the improvement of healthcare services.

• Staying updated on information technology, particularly in the context of electronic health records.

• Taking on roles such as data quality management, data privacy and security, and revenue cycle management, showcasing versatility and adaptability.

• Managing backlog and potential organizational challenges, demonstrating the ability to navigate through complex situations.

Requirements • Proficiency in MEDITECH software

• Solid understanding of Health Information Management principles

• Experience in scanning and managing documents

• Familiarity with Basic Medical Terminology

• Knowledge of the HealthCare System

• Ability to adhere to confidentiality and data privacy standards

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Ability to adapt to new software and technology quickly

• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field, or equivalent experience

• Relevant certification is preferred, such as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
