position Summary:
The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for implementing various social Life Enrichment for the social, physical, and mental welfare of the residents.

  • Assists the Life Enrichment Director in planning, organizing and implementing various Life Enrichment programs.
  • Assists with the creation of programs for residents who require memory support
  • Meets the residents’ needs and interests, taking into account the abilities and physical limitations of each individual resident.
  • Participates in the residents’ plan of care and documents residents’ specific interests and participation.
  • Documents attendance at activities.
  • Operates equipment such as VCRs, P.A. systems, projection systems, etc. in an appropriate manner. Maintains those systems in a working manner and provides preventative maintenance as appropriate.
  • Works with volunteer staff to ensure smooth operations of Life Enrichment programs.
  • Ability to utilize redirecting skills when interacting with residents

The starting salary for this position ranges from $22.31 to $28.11/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

This is a full-time position with a regular weekly schedule of Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 AM-6:00 PM.

Qualifications

Education:
High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.

Training and Experience:
Previous experience working with the elderly in a recreational setting preferred. Previous experience working with residents with Alzheimer’s and other dementias greatly preferred.

Job Knowledge:
Knowledge of Title XXII and OBRA preferred. Understands the aspects of leading an activity.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton’s post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen.
