Overview

The Manager of Volunteer Services is responsible for oversight of volunteer engagement and recruitment/retention in the Carle Health Central and West Regions, including Bloomington-Normal and Greater Peoria markets. Oversees and executes high-impact volunteer growth strategies that affect patient experience outcomes in both adult and student volunteer sectors. Maintains and ensures compliance with regulatory standards and policies/procedures. Provides oversight for Auxiliary and Service League activities in these regions, including alignment with the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Carle Health and Carle Health Center for Philanthropy, as well as overall nonprofit compliance. Provides managerial oversight for volunteer services coordinators serving the Central and West Regions and philanthropic-focused, nonprofit retail employees. Serves as primary liaison to the Carle BroMenn Service Auxiliary Board and assists in setting strategic direction for the board. Performs budgeting and fiscal oversight.

Responsibilities

Serves as a fully engaged leader in the Auxiliary/Volunteer Services division for Carle Health. Collaborates with the Director of Auxiliary/Volunteer Services to ensure volunteer programs are in compliance with accreditation, compliance and regulatory standards, as well as alignment with industry best practices. May lead quality initiatives and/or represent the division on Carle Health committees.
Oversees volunteer engagement, recruitment and retention in the Carle Health Central and West Regions, including Bloomington-Normal and Greater Peoria markets. Assures accuracy/integrity of volunteer data and service records.
Provides managerial oversight for volunteer services coordinators and employees serving philanthropic-focused retail stores in these regions. Drives team engagement.
Leads and executes high-impact volunteer growth strategies, in adult and student sectors, affecting patient experience outcomes in positive ways. Engages with stakeholders to assess needs and establishes programs to meet identified needs, including related position descriptions, training and evaluation, and core competencies.
Provides oversight for Auxiliary and Service League activities in Central and West Regions, including alignment with Mission, Vision and Values and strategic goals of Carle Health and Carle Health Center for Philanthropy. Ensures activities are compliant with nonprofit standards.
Serves as primary liaison to the Carle BroMenn Service Auxiliary Board and assists the board with strategic focus. Oversees activities of the Carle BroMenn Resale Boutique and Service Auxiliary Board engagement with the boutique.
Oversees various special events and recognition activities throughout the year for the purpose of honoring volunteers and their value to Carle Health and our patients/communities.
Budgeting and fiscal oversight for Central and West Region programs.
Coordinates non-clinical internship and VTAP opportunities for Carle BroMenn Medical Center.
Collaborates with community volunteers and organizations to address various needs.
Participates in various civic groups/organizations and engages in public speaking opportunities to encourage participation in Carle Health volunteer programs and garner awareness of volunteer impact.
Collaborates with the Carle Health Center for Philanthropy on activities as appropriate.
Strategic Direction and Management Maintains volunteer quality results by following and enforcing patient service standards. Sets leadership standard for the service provided via personal behavior. Manage recognition and retention of volunteers

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $28.7per hour – $47.93per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
