We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our partnered client’s gas detector manufacturing company in Norwood, MA.

Schedule: Mon – Fri (7am – 4pm)

Pay rate: based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development:
    • Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create 3D models and technical drawings of instruments and components.
    • Develop and optimize designs to meet performance, weight, and cost requirements.
    • Conduct simulations and analyses to ensure design feasibility.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Support the testing and validation of prototypes and final products.
    • Analyze test results and identify areas for improvement.
  • Documentation and Communication:
    • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications and engineering reports.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and sales, to ensure seamless product development and launch.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the design, development, or testing process.
    • Identify and implement solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of Bascom-Turner Instruments’ products.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all designs and products meet the required quality standards.
    • Work with the quality team to implement and maintain quality control processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in the instrumentation industry.
  • Knowledge of specific instrumentation technologies.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
