The Safety Manager provides guidance and direction for the planning, implementation and on-going evaluation of safety policies and procedures to provide a safe working environment for employees. Serves as a local safety advocate engaging local employees in the Safety Program to work towards achieving continuous improvement and expense reduction. The qualified candidate
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years or older
Bachelor’s Degree is required or equivalent job experience; occupational safety/industrial, health education or degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
CSP or CHST Certification strongly preferred
Five (5) years of work experience in a safety leadership role, including several years of work in an aviation or airport environment preferred
Proven record of continuous improvement with accomplishments to support success
Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce federal, state, local and company regulations
Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISAGO, SMS and DOT standards
Strong leadership and proactive problem solving skills
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated organizational and prioritization abilities
Ability to analyze various types of data and produce reports for senior management
Proven success in developing, training and implementing safety procedures and best practices
Demonstrated presentation, training and facilitation skills
Must have a reliable mode of communication and transportation
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Airport experience
Management or supervisory experience
Minimum of 1 year of Safety and Compliance experience
