Senior Business Analyst – Trading Technology (Capital Markets)
Type: Full-time
Location: Toronto (4 days on-site, flexible hours)
Function: Information TechnologyWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to support Trading Technology initiatives within a dynamic and fast-paced Capital Markets environment. This role involves close collaboration with traders, investment professionals, and operations teams to deliver robust technology solutions across trading and post-trade functions.Key Responsibilities:Lead requirements gathering sessions and document business needs in alignment with trading workflows and post-trade operations.Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications for development teams.Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to evaluate and propose innovative solution options.Create and maintain comprehensive process design documentation (as-is/to-be), identifying optimization opportunities.Conduct walkthroughs with SMEs to validate processes, assess risks, and ensure robust control and continuity plans.Analyze and resolve daily operational issues, using strong SQL and technical analysis skills.Support Agile delivery processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog management.Generate clear documentation, reports, and updates for project stakeholders and leadership.Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related discipline.Minimum 4 years of Business Analysis experience, preferably within Capital Markets.Strong knowledge of the trade lifecycle, front office workflows, and trading products such as equities, OTC derivatives, and EMS platforms.Solid experience with relational databases and SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.Demonstrated experience in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments and tools like JIRA and Confluence.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Prior experience working directly with traders or investment professionals is a strong asset.
