position Summary
As part of Odyssey’s team of Growth professionals, the Senior Business Development Manager (BDM), Dept of Navy, will successfully identify, qualify, and maintain a funnel of new business opportunities, and lead growth initiatives for the organization. This market is green field for Odyssey, and as such requires an enthusiastic self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who is hungry to create and build a portfolio from scratch. Success in this position requires a proactive approach and a deep understanding of the Dept of Navy market. Working closely with the five operational business group Executive Directors (Aviation, C2ISR, CCN2, Space and Missile Defense, Life Sciences), this BDM reports directly to the Executive Director, BD and Capture.This is a full-time hybrid role ideally based out of a Fleet concentration area (San Diego, Tidewater VA, Groton CT) or an Odyssey corporate office.

Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Clearance: Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Technical Discipline, or relevant military, government or business experience.
Years of Experience: 3-5 years Business Development or Capture experience in DoD services companies, preferably supporting Dept of Navy customers and markets.
Preferred Qualifications:
Clearance: Active Top Secret
Education: Master’s Degree in a business field.
Certifications: Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or Shipley certification.
Experience: 10+ years of Military or federal civil service experience strongly preferred.

Additional Information
Location: Hybrid, ideally from a major Fleet concentration area (San Diego, Groton, Tidewater), the greater Washington DC area, or near an Odyssey corporate office.
Travel: 25-60%
Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid: Hybrid.

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
