Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a software engineer with interest in stress testing firmware and embedded software systems. You will support Form’s Software in the Loop (SIL) and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing platforms, bringing a deeply collaborative approach at the interface of multiple teams. This position interacts regularly with internal partners including the Firmware, Electrical Engineering, Controls, and Plant Software teams, to ensure comprehensive testing of our next generation Battery Management System. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

What you’ll do:

• Develop the software interface between C firmware/Go embedded software and a linux simulation environment

• Connect virtual software in simulation to a plant model to enable more advanced testing.

• Build abstraction layers supporting both HIL and SIL systems

• Deliver a product that enables internal customers to write firmware/embedded software test case

• Define and maintain public interfaces of firmware and software platforms to support internal customers within Form

What you’ll bring:

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

• 3+ years working with Python and unit testing frameworks in a professional software/firmware capacity.

• 1+ years of experience writing in C, C++, Rust or Go in a professional software/firmware capacity

• Familiarity working with embedded communication protocols, such as CAN, SPI, I2C, and UART, as well as experience interfacing with ADCs.

• Experience reading hardware schematics

• Product manager mindset, particularly when it comes to scoping firmware interfaces and defining requirements

Compensation Range: $97,221 – $121,518
