CONSULTANCY TITLE: Meteorological Expert

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Meteorological Expert for an anticipated ADB Climate and Health activity which will support development of knowledge and learning activities at the intersection of the climate and health agenda. It aims will contribute to technical and advisory support to develop an investment framework and knowledge platform that can help guide climate and health action in ADB’s member countries.
This position is subject to project award and funding.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A master’s degree (equivalent) or higher in meteorology, atmospheric sciences, climate science, or a related field, or comparable experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in meteorological data analysis, modelling, and climate monitoring systems, with a focus on climate change impacts and weather-related hazards.
- Demonstrated expertise in climate risk assessments, particularly in the context of environments and public health
- Experience working with meteorological models for climate adaptation and mitigation, including tools like climate projections, early warning systems, and weather forecasting
- Proven track record of working with MDBs, government agencies, or international organizations in climate resilience and disaster risk reduction
- Knowledge of climate change-related health risks, especially in Asia and the Pacific, and the ability to translate meteorological data into actionable public health recommendations
- Familiarity with satellite data and remote sensing for climate monitoring is highly desirable
WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel internationally at least 25%
