Patient Release of Information Coordinator – Health Information Management

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Processing requests for the release of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with State and Federal regulations, including HIPAA, ARRA, and HITECH.
  • Staying up to date on privacy laws and industry standards related to PHI disclosure.
  • Ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality in all release of information workflows.
  • Following established HIM department policies and hospital procedures for PHI release and productivity.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between Valley Children’s Healthcare and the Release of Information (ROI) vendor to resolve any patient confidentiality or disclosure concerns.

Pay Range: 24.60 – 34.05

EXPERIENCE:

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) required or a minimum two (2) years Pediatric ROI experience required

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma as accredited by the US Department of Education or GED required
  • 2- year college degree in Health Information Management preferred
